The Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation was established in 2009 by boxing legend and six-time world champion Sugar Ray Leonard and his wife, Bernadette.

The Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation is committed to raising funds for research and awareness towards a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.

Throughout Leonard’s boxing career, he watched his dad and friends struggle with the many complications of diabetes and how it has affected every aspect of their life.  Type 1 diabetes strikes both children and adults at any age.  It comes on suddenly, causes dependence on injected or pumped insulin for life, and carries the constant threat of devastating complications.  Type 2 diabetes in children is on the rise, fueled largely by the obesity epidemic.

Leonard draws from his personal experience and boxing career to provide inspiration for funding research to combat the disease.  This is one fight, together, we will win.

The annual “Big Fighters, Big Cause” Charity Boxing Night, co-hosted by B. Riley & Co., is the Foundation’s premier fundraising event that raises funds and awareness for Juvenile Diabetes Research.  The event brings together over 1,500 guests, comprised of C-suite executives from nearly 200 public companies across a range of sectors, leading institutional investors, high net worth individuals, financial services professionals, celebrities, sports legends, and other high-profile individuals.

This year’s “Big Fighters, Big Cause” event will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at the Santa Monica Pier.  To view sponsorship opportunities click HERE

Thanks to my guest Sugar Ray Leonard for the wonderful conversation about all the great work your organization is doing to support this great cause!!

Thanks to my great guest Cathy Salser w/A Window Between Worlds...a nonprofit organization dedicated to using art to help end domestic violence. Through creative expression, battered women and children gain a sense of renewal and power. Their images of hope, survival and strength educate the public and become "a window between worlds" for survivors taking steps to change their lives.
