Parents Sue Son And His Wife Over Not Giving Them Grandchildren

Talk about putting pressure on your kids! A retired Indian couple is doing something unheard of...SUING their son and his wife because they have yet to give them grandchildren after 6 years of marriage. Sanjeev and Sadhana Prasad, 61 and 57, say they used up their savings raising their son, paying for his pilot's training as well giving his and his now wife a lavish wedding. They are demanding compensation worth nearly $650,000 (£525,000) if no grandchild is born within a year. Sanjeev told the press, "The main issue is that at this age we need a grandchild, but these people (my son and daughter-in-law) have an attitude that they don't think about us''. "We got him married in the hope we would have the pleasure of becoming grandparents. It has been six years since their marriage," Prasad said. "It feels as if despite having everything we have nothing."

The court accepted their petition and scheduled it for a hearing on Monday in Haridwar, a city in northern Uttarakhand state, media reports said. "We are not getting love and affection from where we want it the most," he said. "I feel very unlucky." Do you think they should have kids, just to please their parents?
