The triple digit weather in SoCal began yesterday and man when I stepped out after work it felt like a sauna outside😩 Yesterday the California power grid called for a Flex Alert and they are extending that alert for another day.
The California Independent System Operator is urging residents and businesses to cut back on power usage during 4pm and 9pm so there won't be a strain on the system during these high temperatures. They also said that there might be a possibility of Flex Alerts over Labor Day weekend so make sure to stay hydrated and keep cool.
To help ease into the Flex Alert, you should cool down your home to 68/70 degrees and use all major appliances or charge electrical vehicles beforehand. Check out ABC 7's post below to see what you must do during a Flex Alert.
