Teyana Taylor Explains Why She Canceled Her Tour With Jeremih

Don't come for Teyana Taylor unless she sends for you.

While on The Real on Monday (September 17), the "Rose In Harlem" singer finally opened up about the reason she called off her tour with Jeremih earlier this year. “I was doing everything — promotions, my own promo videos... And he did little to none, like any promo. So it was just like, when we got there and the concerts were sold out and different things like that. It was like when we got there, everything was Jeremih," she said of their co-headling tour. "His name was on everything, like, my name wasn’t even on the ticket.”

In addition to her unappreciated hard work, Teyana claimed that Jeremih made things worse when he called her an "opener," during one of his sets. “I’m working my behind off and you call me your opener during one of the shows but then go on radio and say, ‘But I got love for her, you know, it’s all love,’ and try to make it seem like you’re taking the high road,” she explained. “It’s like no, because if you had love for me, you would have never tried to play me live.”

"When he said what he said, that’s when I kind of pressed him about it over text," she recalled. "This is when we were in Toronto, so he kind of admitted that he did say it. I was like, ‘You know what? This tour is done.’ He said, ‘Let’s just let it be done.'"

“My thing is, if I’m just the opener, I shouldn’t have the power to say that this tour is done," the 27-year-old singer added. "So you already knew what I brought to the table, regardless. It was like, don’t try to play me.”

As previously reported, Teyana dropped out of their "Later That Night Tour" last month, after she called Jeremih out on social media for mistreatment and sabotage. However, the very next day, Teyana announced that she would actually be staying on the tour, but as the new headliner, and without Jeremih's involvement. She also renamed the tour, "KTSE ON Alse VII Tour," named after her last album.
