Aerosmith's Joe Perry Released From the Hospital

Legendary Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is out of the hospital after a scary medical episode that occurred after a performance last Saturday night.

After joining Billy Joel on stage at Madison Square Garden for a surprise rendition of "Walk This Way," Perry reportedly collapsed back stage.

Perry was released from a Manhattan hospital on Thursday, reports TMZ.

Paramedics worked on the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer for about 40 minutes before rushing him to the hospital.

A source close to Perry tells TMZ that after undergoing a series of tests, doctors attributed the scare to a combination of allergies and fatigue. Perry has apparently suffered from breathing-related issues since childhood.

Perry was reportedly awake and alert when he was taken to the hospital. On Tuesday, he thanked fans for sending him so many encouraging messages in a social media post.

"Doing well, thanks for all the love and support!" Perry wrote.

The collapse marked the second time in about two years Perry has collapsed during a concert in New York.

In 2016 at a summer concert in Brooklyn with Hollywood Vampires, Perry fainted behind his amplifier and was rushed to the hospital. The episode was later attributed to dehydration and exhaustion.

Perry has yet to indicate any changes to his touring plans due to the health scare. He is scheduled to play 10 shows this fall with his solo band, including Gary Cherone and Brad Whitford

Then in the spring of 2019, Perry and Aerosmith will kick off their 50th anniversary Las Vegas residency, Deuces Are Wild, which begins April 6 at Park Theater at Park MGM.
