On a night where celebrities wore priceless ensembles for their campiest, most over-the-top looks, Mr. West opted for a more simple 'fit, arriving in a black Dickies zip-up jacket, black pants, and matching worker boots.
Clearly not interested in attending the Gala on-theme, or maybe it was just Ye being Ye, Kanye went with a... let's just say effortless look. And being that he chose to go that route, we, of course, had to break the look down as best we could.
As far as his "statement" jacket goes, it, according to Dickies' website, is inspired by General Dwight D. Eisenhower's "favorite WWII jacket " and is fittingly known as "The Eisenhower Jacket." It retails for $43. And when it comes to his pants and matching work boots, I think it's safe to assume those were around the same price range.
Ye's wife, Kim Kardashian, on the other hand, went all out for the most fashionable night of the year. With this year's exhibition being "Camp: Notes on Fashion" — a nod to Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay, Notes on "Camp" — the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star hit the red carpet in a "wet" look, which drew inspiration from the "Sophia Loren Soaking Wet on Boat Out to Sea" photo.
To accomplish Kim's look, she went with a skin-tight, waist-cinching dress that featured dripping beads. And for her glam, the business mogul had wet-inspired makeup and hair as she wore "dripping" locks and glossy makeup.
