Kanye Talks Bipolar Diagnosis In Trailer For David Letterman's Netflix Show

The second season of David Letterman's Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, features none other than the one, the only Kanye West.

Ye is one of the five celebrity guests on the upcoming season of the Emmy-nominated show, which features David sitting down having intimate one-on-one conversations with some of the world's most sought after celebrities. (Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton, comedian Tiffany Haddish, philanthropist Melinda Gates, and talk show host Ellen DeGeneres will all be sitting down for some interesting chats with Mr. Letterman this season)

In the trailer for the forthcoming season, Kanye is shown opening up about his bipolar diagnosis, saying, "When you're bipolar, you have a potential to ramp up, and it could take it to a point where you start acting erratic, as TMZ would put it." The preview additionally shows a clip of one of Ye's Sunday Services.

As fans know, last month, Ye's wife Kim Kardashian opened up about her rapper husband reaccepting his diagnosis after denying it during his infamous visit to the White House in October. "I think we’re in a pretty good place with it now," she told Vogue. "It is an emotional process, for sure. Right now everything is really calm. But we can definitely feel episodes coming, and we know how to handle them."

"For him, being on medication is not really an option, because it just changes who he is. Traveling a lot does set it off, so he doesn’t travel as much as he used to," she continued. "But honestly, I never want to speak for him, because I am not in his mind." Kim added, when "it comes to him being in the middle of a bipolar episode, I’ll do everything to be supportive and help to calm the situation."

With a reputation that proceeds him, it's no wonder David recently told the Today show that he was initially apprehensive about sitting down with the controversial rapper. "I was frightened honestly because I had only met him a couple of times on the show and I knew that depending on the day, you weren't quite sure which path you were going to be on… he was working on what he calls his Sunday service and I didn't know what to expect…and we went to it early in a sound studio in Burbank and it was remarkably spiritual…it was quite moving," the talk show host shared. Adding, "When I was done with Kanye, I kind of felt like I wanted—you want to kind of father him and I think he's in good hands and I think he's so artistically smart."
