Nipsey Hussle's Ex Claims His Sister Took Their Daughter Without Permission

Tanisha Foster is doing everything she can to regain custody of her daughter.

According to The Blast, Nipsey Hussle's ex-wife, and the mother of his oldest child, claims the late rapper's sister, Samantha Smith, took custody of their daughter, Emani, after he was killed and has refused to return her.

In new court documents, obtained by the entertainment news site, Tanisha is objecting Samantha's recent filing to be named guardian of the ten-year-old. Tanisha cites her being Emani's biological mother as reasoning she should be awarded custody, and believes the "Law and Policy of this state favors the protection of the rights of natural parents and their children." Adding, "Objector has statutory priority over petitioner."

Tanisha additionally claimed that Emani was visiting her father Nipsey on the day that he was murdered (March 31) and says that Sam "unlawfully took the minor and as of this date, despite objectors demand, refused to return the minor to Objector." She added she believes that "the best interests" of Emani are not being served by Sam's "act of removing the minor from her mother’s custody; and by refusing contact between minor and mother." Tanisha is asking that Sam's petition for guardianship be denied.

As previously reported, Nipsey's older brother Samiel Asgehedom, a.k.a. Blacc Sam, joined their younger sister's fight for guardianship last week by filing a declaration in support of Sam obtaining guardianship of Emani. The 25-year-old skin therapist requested to be appointed as temporary guardian to Emani last month but was denied shortly thereafter after a judge said there was "No urgency demonstrated for granting this relief prior to hearing on May 14th," The Blast reported at the time.

Samantha, Samiel, and Tanisha were all in court last week where Tani was given a chance to spend time with Emani, The Blast reports. Following the hearing, she told the entertainment news site, "I love my daughter and I’ll do whatever it takes to get her back."

A judge has yet to rule on the case.
