New York Is 2019’s Best City for Halloween, According To New Study

Halloween is right around the corner. While you've been getting candy ready for trick-or-treaters and putting together the perfect costume, WalletHub was busy conducting a study to find out which U.S. city is the best for celebrating Halloween. While New York City ended up at the top of the list, there are cities all across the country that know how to up the spook factor for the beloved holiday.

WalletHub compared the 100 largest U.S. cities based on 21 key metrics, including costume stores per capita, average price per Halloween party ticket and share of potential trick-or-treat stops. Each metric was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the most favorable conditions for a Halloween celebration. Finally, WalletHub determined each city’s weighted average across all metrics to calculate its overall score and used the resulting scores to rank-order our sample.
