I used to love going to the Midway Drive-In in Des Moines when I lived in Washington. Unfortunately that piece of history was torn down in 2005, and replaced with a Lowe's, which I also love!!! Seriously, I could be at Lowe's all day.
Ok, getting off track. With the current climate of things, it's pretty cool to see the Drive-In as an alternate option for movie viewing. Especially if you get annoyed sitting next to someone who chews loud, or checks their phone. It might even be more cost efficient way to have a fun family experience, since each person won't need a ticket, only one ticket per vehicle is required.
Tribeca bring the drive-in experience to the Rose Bowl with a great line-up of movies, including two of my fav's, Apollo 13 and Field Of Dreams. From what I can see so far, there are four weekends full of viewings, starting on Thursday, July 2nd with the classic Jaws. ET, Creed, Space Jam, Wizard Of Oz, Mean Girls, Goonies, Straight Outta Compton, Beetlejuice, andDo The Right Thing are also among the many listed to play.
See the full schedule, and purchase tickets directly at https://tribecafilm.com/drive-in/RoseBowl , and I definitely recommend looking at the FAQ, which gives some great tips, including recommending that you arrive at least 30 minutes before the movie time, as well as mask requirements.
Of all of the movies listed, which one would you go see?
