Justin Turner is the Dodgers’ nominee for the 2020 Roberto Clemente Award, annually recognizing the Major League player who best represents baseball through extraordinary character, community involvement, philanthropy and positive contributions on and off the field.
Each club has one nominee for the award honoring the game’s most philanthropic and humanitarian players.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he has worked with the Dream Center assisting local restaurants and helping serve hundreds of thousands of meals to those in need since the middle of March. Turner and his wife, Kourtney, would select a restaurant and order thousands of meals to be delivered to the Dream Center, serving the food through a drive-through distribution and feeding more than 12,000 individuals per day.
