California Conference for Women Announces New Speakers for March 4th Event

A new conference dedicated to helping create a more equitable workplace for women in California has been scheduled for March 4th.

The California Conference for Women is a virtual event that will focus on the need for Californians to come together and create more equitable workplaces for women - especially amid a devastating pandemic that has disproportionately affected women and forced more than 2.2 million women to leave the workforce in 2020.

The California Conference for Women will feature iconic speakers such as famed conservationist, Dr. Jane Goodall, bestselling author Angie Thomas, and Ursula Burns, the first Black woman CEO of a Fortune 500 company. Organizers say the Conference will offer interactive networking, inspiration, and tools to help navigate today’s challenges. A host of breakout sessions will cover topics including tapping your inner strength and resiliency; dismantling inequalities at work; parenting independent children; and breaking bad habits.

Other speakers include bestselling authors Glennon Doyle and Adam Grant. Doyle is an activist and author of the #1 New York Times best-sellers Untamed, a Reese Witherspoon x Hello Sunshine Book Club pick, and Love Warrior, an Oprah’s Book Club selection, as well as the New York Times best-seller Carry On, Warrior.

Grant, an organizational psychologist, is Wharton’s top-rated professor, bestselling author, and host of WorkLife with Adam Grant: A TED original podcast. He has been recognized as one of the world’s 25 most influential management thinkers and Fortune’s 40 under 40. Grant’s latest book, Think Again, helps readers learn to rethink their opinions and open their minds.

Tickets are available for the virtual event at http://www.CAConferenceforWomen.org.

Other items available for conference attendees include:

  • Timely, interactive breakouts with renowned speakers including Daisy Auger-Domínguez, chief people officer of the VICE Media Group; Julie Lythcott-Haims, bestselling author, How to Raise an Adult; Emily Nagoski, PhD, co-author, Burnout; and Linda Raynier, career strategist.
  • Opportunities to engage with speakers and each other, support women-owned businesses, and participate in facilitated networking sessions and resume reviews.
  • A virtual career fair where attendees can browse job opportunities and chat with recruiters from Conference sponsor partner companies.
  • A showcase of California women who are supporting other women as part of the Storytellers Contest, presented by Target and the Conferences for Women.

The California Conference for women is a nonprofit, nonpartisan effort that is part of a wider network of women's conferences that are also held in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
