Mom Re-Creates Dress From 'Crazy, Rich, Asians"

Ha Truong, is a  Miami- based mom and blogger.

Her daughter Oliva is Vietnamese and Thai and hasn't always had the chance to see herself represented in encounters in her everyday life.

Once "Crazy Rich Asians" was released, this all changed.

Truong's daughter saw actress Constance Wu in this film, she saw women who look like her living out their dreams to do whatever they want to do.

For her daughter, she recreated the beautiful dress Wu wears in the movie.

She posted on Instagram why it's so special for her daughter.

She wrote: “When Liv was in preschool, her classmates would ask her if she’s Chinese. She’d come home asking if everyone (Asian) is Chinese; she’s Vietnamese and Thai. She didn’t ‘see’ herself at school and her peers didn’t see her, When she put on this dress, it gave her a spark.”

Truong even caught the attention of Wu and she commented "Possibility, that's what seeing yourself reflected in stories gives you, love this girl."

How sweet is this?!
