Have you heard of this plan yet?
If you haven't... here it is.
There is now a plan to build a passenger rail system between Southern California and Las Vegas!
A Miami-based Brightline, who has a rail service that will connect Miami to Orlando in the year 2022 said that the high-speed rail project failed over the last decade.
The Co-founder and Co-Chief stated "Brightline is changing transportation in our country by connecting heavily trafficked corridors that are too long to drive and too short to fly."
Now, Brightline is trying to add California to this train project.
The system would be among the fastest in the world and has more than a $50-billion funding shortfall.
It was said that this rail will acquire 38 acres of land along side the Las Vegas strip for a station.
If all works out, the land would be west of the Mandalay Bay and west of the 15 Freeway,
The Brightline system could save an hour of transit time, if traffic allows.
As of now, Nevada and California are encouraging this plan.
The governor of Nevada stated "The introduction of high-speed rail between Vegas and Southern California will bring significant economic and enviornmental benefits to our state and support increased tourism."
I guess we will have to wait and see what happens!
What are your thoughts on this?!
