Thousands Are Without Power In SoCal Counties Due To Wind

Thousands of people in Southern California counties are without power due to the first major Santa Ana wind event.

20,000 Southern California Edison customers are currently powerless.

Schools in the San Gabriel Valley have canceled classes due to the strong winds and outages.

In L.A. County, 470 SoCal Edison customers in Bradbury and 480 in Sierra Madre are also without power.

Thousands of Glendale Water and Power customers are also being affected by this.

Pasadena Water and Power said 260 customers are without any power,.

SoCal Edison is looking at shutting off power in areas where fires could be sparked and downed by power poles.

The company has sent out alerts as well.

These winds could reach up to 50 mph and combined with dry brush conditions, officials are warning of an elevated fire danger over the next two days.
