Sweethearts Candy Won't Be Sold This Valentine's Day!

The ultimate candy staple for Valentine's Day won't be around this year, 2019.

Sweethearts candy, the ones with the funny and sweet messages on them like "Be Mine," "BFF" and "Bite Me," will not be sold this year.

The New England Confectionary Company that made the candy, also known as Necco, went out of business in July.

Spangler Candy Company now owns sweethearts. Spangler's best-known candy is its Dum Dum lollipops.

The candy company acquired the brand in September and did not have the time to produce the conversation hearts for this Valentine’s Day.

Such a bummer... but they should be back in 2020!
