Just one week after Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Carl Nassib came out as gay, the NFL is sending a powerful message of support to the LGBTQ+ community.
Nassibe is the first active NFL player to come out...today the league tweeted a new commercial, that starts with the 'football is gay' and goes on to support ALL members of the LGBTQ+ community, and just EVERYONE...football is for EVERYONE. The 30-second spot also offers a link to the Trevor Project, an organization that provides suicide prevention services to the LGBTQ+ community.
I was sad but not shocked to read the negative comments that are posted below that tweet ;/ but as an ally and supporter of all my incredibly kind and loving friends in the LGBTQ+ community...all I can do is hope one day, it won't be like that ;/ Either way...THANK YOU to the NFL for stepping up 🙂
