Ohhh God Bless you Krispy Kreme for using your yummy doughnuts, to encourage folks to GIVE BACK! Well, GIVE BLOOD in this case...the company has teamed up with the Red Cross to help with a nationwide blood shortage and is offering FREE DOUGHNUTS to those who help out. Starting TODAY, January 24th thru the end of the month, Jan 31st...anyone who gives blood or platelets will get a free dozen glazed doughnuts to put in that belly!

According to USA Today, the United States is facing its worst blood shortage in more than a decade, largely as a result of a drop in blood drives due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the American Red Cross announced Jan. 11. Krispy Kreme said in a statement that winter weather has further complicated efforts to rebuild the blood supply with hundreds of blood drives canceled because of winter storms.

To receive your free dozen, customers will have to order in person, at a Krispy Kreme shop and show their donation sticker or confirmation of their donation on the Red Cross blood donor app. Donating to other blood donation organizations besides the Red Cross will also qualify for the free dozen doughnuts too! Krispy Kreme told USA TODAY that it gave away nearly 4 million free doughnuts with its vaccine incentive that ended Dec. 31.
