The popular new Netflix series about serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer continues to spark public outcry including an announcement from eBay that they have 'banned sales of all Dahmer related paraphernalia' and that it violates the e-commerce company's "violence and violent criminals policy," a spokesperson told CBS.
The actor playing Jeffrey Dahmer in the Netflix show, "Dahmer-Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," wears old-fashioned aviator-style eyeglasses and has blond hair, leading some sellers to market Dahmer wigs. According to CBS, resale platform Mercari shows a listing for a "Jeffrey Dahmer Halloween Costume" that retails for $49 and includes an orange prison jumpsuit plus a name tag ;/ The show was Netflix's ninth most-watched English-language TV series of all time after its first full week of availability, according to the streaming service.
Meanwhile, many family members of Dahmer's real-life victims have expressed outrage on social media as well as Dahmer's father Lionel who also claims he was never warned or contacted that this show was even happening. Lionel is reportedly considering suing Netflix for 'glamorizing' his son's murders AND that some tapes featured in the series were used without permission.
