Facebook is now working on launching a version of Instagram for children under 13 years of age.

The company doesn't allow people who are under this age to create an account on the platform. A spokesperson for Facebook stated that the company was exploring a parent-controlled version of Instagram that is for kids from ages six to 12.

According to the spokesperson, they stated that "Increasingly kids are asking their parents if they can join apps that help them keep up with their friends. Right now there aren't many options for parents, so we're working on building additional products that are suitable for kids, managed by parents."

Do you think this is a smart move?
