Weight Watchers Has Changed Its Name & Focus
The word "diet" isn't such a popular name anymore. So Weight Watchers wants people to know that its programs are about more than losing weight. So its slimming down its name from Weight Watchers to WW. With this new branding, the company's focusing more on "wellness" that "weight loss." The new name is meant to reflect the company’s focus on overall health and wellness. Mindy Grossman, President & CEO at Weight Watchers, posted to social media:
Welcome to the new Weight Watchers, now WW - going beyond weight to be the world’s partner in wellness. #WeAreWW "Wellness That Works"
In addition to its new name, the company is launching a new app and has entered into a partnership with meditation company Headspace. Oprah Winfrey--who owns a stake in Weight Watchers--has endorsed the change.
So what do you think of the new WW?
