Ever Wondered What That Extra Shoelace Hole Is For?
According to Business Insider, runners use that extra whole to tie their shoes extra tight. It reportedly helps prevent blisters by keeping your heel from slipping inside your shoe. This method is called a "Heel Lock" or a "Lace Lock" or a "Racer's Loop."
Here's how to do it:
- Stick your shoelace through the extra whole to create a loop;
- Cross your shoelaces through the opposite loops;
- Pull the laces down, then up;
- Tie your shoes as you normally would.
