Netflix Show "Ratched" Is Casting Military Types

Netflix is creating a series called "Ratched" that will be a prequel to the Academy Award-winning movie, "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest." The original story is about a man who fakes mental illness after being arrested to avoid going to prison. Now, the prequel will focus on Nurse Ratched from the original story. The star of the prequel will be played by "American Horror Story" actress Sarah Paulson. The Netflix series will be produced by Michael Douglas and Ryan Murphy. Aside from Sarah Paulson, the show will also feature Sharon Stone, Judy Davis, Don Cheadle, Cynthia Nixon, Rosanna Arquette and Vincent D'Onofrio.

And if you're a real-life former military member, you have a chance to be on the show! You'd film your part in Los Angeles either this Friday, May 17, 2019, or Monday, May 20, 2019. Here's a description of what casting directors are looking for...

  • Real Military - Males to portray the ages of mid 20’s to mid 30’s
  • Experience with a 38 revolver and various types of rifles and shotguns
  • You'll need to be well-versed in handling guns
  • No visible tattoos
  • No facial hair

Union or Non-union submissions will be accepted. Also, you cannot have ever worked on "Ratched." If you fit what they're looking for, take a selfie of yourself & email it--along with a detailed description of your experiences in the military & with guns--to: Type "GUN" in the subject line of the email.

Good luck!
