California just launched the first toll-free statewide mental health line that will be staffed daily. The way it works is that the California Peer-Run Warm Line will offer non-emergency emotional support and even referrals to anyone who is in need of mental health help. This mental health number is 855-845-7415 and it can be used both on the phone and through texting. It will be available Monday through Friday from 7am to 11pm, they are open on Saturdays from 7am to 3pm, and on Sundays they are available from 7am to 9pm.
