An iconic landmark for Southern California drivers on the 210 Freeway is Miller Brewery in Irwindale. Well, it's officially the end of an era because Molson Coors plans to cease production at the brewery. They hope to sell it to Pabst instead of shutting down completely, but according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Pabst has 120 days to decide if they want to buy it for $150 million. The deal would also mean that the companies will drop prior lawasuits against each other. Miller Brewery has been open for nearly 40 years and plans to cease production by September. This brewery currently employs about 470 people and produces beer for Miller Lite, Coors Light, Miller High Life, MGD, Steel Reserve, Miller 64, and brands for Pabst. All of these brands produced will move to breweries in Colorado and Texas. The company's Chief Integrated Supply Chain Officer, Brian Erhardt says, "While it was a very difficult decision, we have extra capacity in our system and Irwindale's production can be absorbed by other breweries in our network."
