Girl Scout Cookie season is just around the corner, 16 days to be exact and there's a new cookie in town to add some flavor to the current cookie line up. The new cookie is called Lemon-Ups and it's a crispy lemon cookie that has different inspirational messages on each one such as, "I am a go-getter" or "I am an innovator." These Lemon-Ups will be available in select areas as they're replacing the Savannah Smiles. The new cookies are a bit different than the popular Lemonades, which are shortbread cookies coated with lemon-flavored icing. Lemon-Ups features new packaging as it won't come in your typical Girl Scout cookies box and it will reflect "what the cookie program is all about."
Senior director of communications and external affairs at Girl Scouts of the USA, Stewart Goodbody, told TODAY:
"GSUSA works closely with its licensed bakers to keep our Girl Scout Cookie selection mouth-wateringly top-notch, which means bringing new cookies into the mix periodically based on sales, flavor trends, and consumer preferences... We wanted to keep the same lemon flavor consumers know and love but introduce a new take on it, complete with messages inspired by Girl Scout Cookie entrepreneurs!"
