The Food and Drug Administration is investigating three different outbreaks of E. coli tied to pre-made salads.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported the first and largest outbreak has affected 102 people in 21 states, and is tied to romaine lettuce from Salinas, California.

Two smaller outbreaks have been linked to packages of Fresh Express Sunflower Crisp Chopped Salad and to romaine lettuce from the Washington based chain Evergreens.

Earlier this week, the FDA urged consumers to throw out any salad kits over possible contamination.
