LEGO has approved the making of LEGO NASA women figures!
The toy company announced the winner of its semiannual Lego Ideas competition: a set honoring five women of NASA. The women are computer scientist Margaret Hamilton, mathematician Katherine Johnson, astronaut Sally Ride, astronomer and executive Nancy Grace Roman and astronaut Mae Jemison.
Katherine Johnson, was the NASA mathematician whose story was the center of the film "Hidden Figures."
The toy idea was proposed last year by Maia Weinstock, deputy editor of MIT News.
We hope this inspires young women to want to be scientists! So awesome!
