This College Student Gets Stuck On The Subway So He Has A 'Subway Graduation'

If you've ever been to New York City, it's known that the subway system routinely can ruin your day with its signal problems, brake issues, and general inefficiencies.

Well in this case,  a graduating college student who missed his graduation ceremony at Radio City Music Hall after his train was delayed two hours due to an emergency brake malfunction.

Jerich Marco Alcantara's E train  was so severely delayed Tuesday that he was unable to make it to his Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing graduation in time. 

When he jokingly thanked his fellow passengers for attending his graduation, he and his friends turned the experience into their own little ceremony. 

Even fellow passengers joined in to help him create his special moment.

A video from the subway car shows a friend presenting Jerich with a DIY diploma aka his phone as Green Day's "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)" played in the background.
