Singer and songwriter James Bay held nothing back on 104.3 MYfm's MYStage on March 23rd 2018. Just one day before Bay was set to kick off his North American tour in support of his upcoming album Electric Light, James performed a collection of unreleased songs and throwback favorites for a select group of 104.3 MYfm listeners.
To start off the night, some lucky winners got the opportunity to attend a short meet and greet within the iHeartRadio Theater LA. One even came prepared with a pen in hand for James to sign her guest pass into the event. Shortly after, Bay went to his dressing room to sign some guitars for 104.3 MYfm and it wasn't long before the venue was packed with fans eager to enjoy his music.
Valentine In The Morning's Valentine and Jillian kicked off the night as the show's MCs and introduced James Bay to a roaring applause. He started his set with the brooding If You Ever Want To Be In Love from his first LP Chaos and the Calm.
Earlier on in the week, Valentine sourced some fan questions on social media. Listeners posted their questions on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #MYAsksJamesBay, and on stage at the event a few were selected to be featured.
Among other things, the room discovered that his favorite children's book is called The Butterfly Lion, the ring he's wearing has significant meaning and will be with him throughout the entire Electric Light tour, and the upcoming Pink Lemonade music video is almost set in outer space.
After the short question and answer session was completed, James Bay was full steam ahead in his no holds barred performance. In addition to his hits like Let It Go and Hold Back The River, Bay performed a significant amount of unreleased material that will be dropping on his upcoming album.
MYStage attendees were treated to his new single Wild Love and recently released Pink Lemonade alongside Us, Slide and Just For Tonight.
The entire setlist for the night was If You Ever Want To Be In Love, Pink Lemonade, When We Were On Fire, Wild Love, Us, Slide, Just For Tonight, Best Fake Smile, Let It Go, Hold Back The River.
After closing out the show and throwing his guitar pics into the audience, James left the stage and also left the audience with the memories of an amazing night.
