X Ambassadors put on a show at the AT&T Sound Studio for some very special 104.3 MYFM listeners this past Wednesday. Their set included soulful performances of their newest songs, "Ahead of Myself" and "Joyful".
Being that it was such an intimate setting, the X Ambassadors allowed fans to ask them some questions and included some of their favorite stories as a starting band. They shared that some of their biggest struggles as well, explaining that during their early years together they would "schedule taking the [travel] van in for daily check ups after performances because it was always breaking down," said lead vocalist Casey Harris.
Their best story to date was when Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons heard their music being played as he was sick in a hospital in Norfolk, Virginia. Reynolds heard their raw, acoustic talent and sent their music to Interscope Records who signed them to the label almost immediately.
The passion this band has for their music is sewn through their lyrics and heard by their listeners. Their latest song, "Don't Stay" has already reached over 9 million views on YouTube!
One of their biggest accomplishments is organizing a music festival called Cayuga Sound Festival in their hometown of Ithaca, New York. They began this festival in 2017 and will be returning again this year for their second festival in September. It is one of the few ways that they are able to directly give back to the community that shaped them and make an impact on the youth living in Upstate New York. In addition, some of the profits from the festival will be given to non-profit organizations in the area.
