The most popular daytime drama "Days of Our Lives" has been on TV since November 8th of 1965, but however, now it seems that the longtime run is finally coming to an end.

While NBC has announced that the show will be going on an indefinite hiatus at the end of November and the entire cast has been released from their contracts.

The soap will air its 55th season on NBC, but the executives are still deciding on season 56. Since the show shoots months in advance there are enough episodes to air through summer of 2020 but if NBC does renew the show production would resume in March. If that is the case then the actors would need to renegotiate new contracts.
