The D.C. Attorney General has filed a lawsuit against DoorDash, accusing the food delivery company of misleading customers and pocketing tip money meant for drivers.

The lawsuit accuses DoorDash of a "deceptive" policy where tip money was put towards the drivers' fee, instead of going straight into their pocket.

That means drivers would usually get paid the same amount, tip or no tip. Earlier this year, DoorDash promised to change its tipping model.

A spokesman insisted that "we have always paid 100% of tips to Dashers".
