Does your lower back hurt or do you have restless nights and wake up just as tired as when you went to bed? Well maybe you should give yoga a try.

Researchers have found that regular yoga sessions and physical therapy were just as effective as drugs in combating back pain, one of the causes of sleep disturbances.

The study was published in the Journal of General Internal Medicine and shows that those who took 12 weeks of yoga classes or a one on one Physical Therapy sessions significantly improved the quality of their sleep for an entire year.

Eric Roseen, the study's lead, noted that taking a holistic approach to treating these problems can improve patients' lives by reducing their dependence on medications, avoiding the side effects that come along with their use.
