The flu shot could soon be a "flu pill."

A new oral flu vaccine is on the horizon.

A recent study from Stanford showed the oral vaccine was just as effective as the standard injection.

An oral tablet vaccine would be easier and faster to distribute and administer than an injectable vaccine.

Don't get too excited though, the oral vaccine is at least five years away.

Many kids hate or are afraid of shots and at the same time they are the super spreaders of the flu especially at school.

When it comes to children, an oral vaccine has many advantages including overcoming fear of needles. While for the younger children there is already a very full immunization schedule.
