Dr. Dre's Wife Nicole Young Files For Divorce After 24 Years of Marriage

After over 20 years of marriage, Dr. Dre and his wife Nicole Young are splitting up.

According to multiple reports, Young filed for divorce on Monday, June 29th in Los Angeles citing "irreconcilable differences." Nicole and the music mogul were married for 24 years after saying "I Do" in 1996. And according to TMZ, there is no prenup and Forbes reported that Dre's net worth is estimated to be around $800 million. The outlet also reports that Young is seeking spousal support.

Together, Nicole and Dre share two adult children — Truice (23) and Truly (19). The Beats founder also has four children from previous relationships, La Tanya Daanielle Young (37), Curtis (38), Marcel (29), and Andre Young Jr., who passed away 12 years ago in 2008.

Before tying the knot with Dr. Dre, Young was previously married to NBA player Sedale Threatt. Nicole and Sedale got married in 1992, but were only married for three years before ending their relationship. Young had met Dre while she was still married to Sedale, and, according to HipHopDX, a letter to Nicole from the N.W.A. founder from 1995, he wrote, "Hopefully you doing well and you realized you need to quit f***ing with Sedale and come home to your doctor. I will take care of you baby girl." Dre and Nicole were married the following year.

Dr. Dre has been keeping busy lately, as Snoop Dogg recently shared a shot of him in the studio with the caption, "Bac2gether again," as well as another studio clip with Kanye West putting the finishing touches on new music.
