RaeLynn just released her highly-anticipated album, and the “Only In A Small Town” artist delved into why the album is an ode to her Texas hometown.
BAYTOWN released on Friday (September 24), following her 2020 EP of the same title. The 14-track album features collaborations with other country artists, including Mitchell Tenpenny and Blake Shelton. Kane Brown, Tyler Hubbard, Rhett Akins and others are included in writing credits on the album.
RaeLynn dished in a statement:
“BAYTOWN is a record where you can find a little bit of everything. If you know me, you know I love to dance, get rowdy and have a good time, but you also know that songwriting and talking about hard subjects is something I will never steer away from.
“Country music is my heart and soul and I fell in love with it when I grew up in Baytown, Texas. Everything that I am and what I represent is imprinted with my hometown in my heart. No matter what I do, what I sing or where I live, Baytown will always be represented because it made me who I am today. On some level we all feel that way about where we were raised. I can’t wait for y’all to dive into this record and see the place you grew up come to life.”
Ahead of the full album release, RaeLynn dropped her duet with Tenpenny (“Get That All The Time”), shard a sneak peek of “She Chose Me,” and debuted “Only In A Small Town.” Making September 2021 even more eventful, RaeLynn and husband Josh Davis welcomed their daughter, Daisy Rae, on September 8. RaeLynn wrote on Instagram on Friday that she listened to BAYTOWN while holding Daisy in her arms, and “I just can’t be more proud of where my life, family and career are going and grateful you are a part of it.”
