There Is A Flex Alert Issued By CA Power Grid Manager For Today - Aug 17th

Don't forget to take some steps before we have the Flex Alert today at 4pm so you can keep cool!

According to ABC 7, there is a Flex Alert happening today that was issued by the manager of California's power grid. The reason for this is to help cut back on some power usage in order to prevent a strain on the system as the temperatures recently have been high.

Californians are being urged to cut back on power usage from 4pm-9pm on Wednesday, August 17th by setting their thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, avoiding using major appliances and turning off unnecessary lights. To help ease into the Flex Alert, Californians should pre-cool their homes (72 degrees), use major appliances earlier in the day, close windows, charge devices/cars earlier in the day, run pool pumps earlier in the day and turn off lights or power usage off that you don't need.
