Laverne Cox is known for many things — her iconic role as Sophia on Orange Is The New Black, making history as the first transgender person on the cover of Time, being an outspoken advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, the list goes on. She is also not afraid to use her platform to spark conversations and help people become the best version of themselves, herself included.

The Promising Young Woman actress understands that there are others who think differently and have a different perspective than her own and she explores these differences on The Laverne Cox Show podcast through discussions with special guests, all in the hopes of helping lead people through a "spiritual makeover" to be the best they can be.

"It is my hope that this [podcast] becomes a place that fosters perspectives that might inspire new behavior in each of us, which in turn gets us closer to becoming the very best versions of ourselves," Cox states in the podcast summary.

Past guests of the show include Glee star and Tony Award winner Alex Newell, where they discussed their rise in the Broadway world all the way to the Tonys stage; DJ and producer Honey Dijon, who shared stories from her career and early days of New York City nightlife; and transgender actress and activist Nicole Maines, who shared her side of the trans experience and the fight for the civil rights of herself and others; to name a few.
