Almost a month on 'lockdown' for those of us taking the pandemic rules seriously...and SERIOUS IT IS and we still have a way to go. I don't know what's more stressful...being quarantined with your family OR SINGLE AND ALONE. Definitely BOTH, for different and similar reasons...depending on how quickly your personal situation snowballed but I've literally interviewed/talked to friends via phone from a variety of scenarios and ITS A LOT that MOST people are suddenly juggling... from sudden FINANCIAL, UNEMPLOYMENT and MENTAL WOES taking over...most of us just feel like we are living in a 'Twilight Zone'. That being said...we have MUCH more time to go...I don't know what to offer to help aside from a few personal tips...but this doctor had LOTS of help wise is this article
My BIGGEST TIPS I can offer from personal experience:
a.do what you can to PHYSICALLY RELIEVE STRESS...yes, I mean annoying things like working out and sex can help ;0 ha SEROTONIN IS YOUR FRIEND! You know what to do! (don't make me get detailed and get fired!) ha
b.personal pampering like a HOT STEAM SHOWER OR BUBBLE BATH...hot baths are my absolute ritual...soak your troubles away...shave, clean up and put a nice facial mask on...DEEP CLEANING your body and your skin PLUS THAT STEAM feels like a FRESH START...take deeeeep breaths....relaaaaaax...take your tiiiiiime...
c.don't partake in stressful activities...like calling someone who is ALWAYS NEGATIVE or speaks in a stressful tone...don't watch the news TOO MUCH or even shows/movies that are TOO INTENSIVE or ACTION PACKED or have stressful plot lines...murder, mayhem, SUSPENSE, LOUD NOISES/LOUD MUSIC...honestly...it can ADD TO YOUR ANXIETY...
d.know when to SHUT IT OFF...I've battled insomnia for years...pills ALWAYS MADE IT WORSE...so, ya gotta try O' Natural as they say...you just may need to start 2 hours early...the sooner you get ready for bed/sleep time....I start at like 730/8pm...start the 'wind down' EARLY...stop drinking or eating anything after 6...sugar/food can affect your sleep and alcohol is DEFIANTLY a culprit when it comes to sleep disruption...a little wine...but a BIG CHUG of water...calm sounds, calm shows...that silly CALMING/SLEEPYTIME TEA WORKS too...literally TELL YOURSELF to 'caaaaaaaaaalm doooooown'...
e. come up with SOLUTIONS...the best stress/anxiety/insomnia aid is PROBLEM SOLVING...clear your head...do your best to resolve personal conflicts...call, say your sorry or say F U, whatever fits the situation...but then MOVE ON...let stressful people GO...financially...all you can do is MAKE A PLAN...file for unemployment or go where the jobs are and start APPLYING...'how do I fix this'? is MUCH HEALTHIER THEN STAYING IN DENIAL and doing nothing...or drinking and eating your way thru...
++I know these aren't 'rocket science' but have worked for ME, if you want to given them a wirl🙂 Either way HANG IN THERE XOXO
