This pandemic year has been tough on EVERYONE and especially sad for sports fans, with NO FANS being allowed to attend any games 'in person'. Grateful to have had teams play but it's been a year of empty stadiums, arena's and ballparks...until now. We do know that Super Bowl LV IS scheduled to happen on February 7th, 2021 in Tampa, Florida...with The Weeknd performing at halftime...and were assuming...still...NO FANS IN ATTENDANCE...not so fast!
NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell just announced today, that the league plans to invite actual people to attend and watch the game IN PERSON...who? 'Vaccinated health care workers'...how 'bout that!! AS A THANK YOU! Check out his letter to the Super Bowl host committee...saying how he wanted to"honor and thank health care workers for their extraordinary service during the pandemic" as well as promote the importance of vaccinations and the wearing of masks in public. He added: "We all know that over the past year, these frontline workers have put their own lives at risk to the benefit of society and we owe them our ongoing gratitude. We also know that they will remain essential for months to come to treat those who are ill and administer vaccines. We hope that in some small way, this initiative will inspire our country and recognize these true American heroes as we look forward to a better and healthier year." AMEN!!
I think it's a tremendous gesture that I know both fans AND the health care workers will appreciate AND ENJOY!🙂 Now...if we could only guarantee that the RAMS ARE GONNA BE THERE TOO!! ;0
