In a galaxy far, far away...suddenly mailing letters BECAME COOL AGAIN!
I can't tell you the last time I got THIS excited about mailing ANYTHING! Thank you to the fine folks at the post office for getting it...STAR WARS RULES! And Star Wars fans are so obsessed, we will buy your new Star Wars themed forever stamps BY THE TRUCKLOAD! Ha ok, some of us will buy them to keep but I'm also excited to use them and even find excuses to mail more cards and letters to show off my cool stamps. With Lucasfilm celebrating their 50th anniversary this year...it makes perfect sense that they would find cool ways to start commemorating that milestone. The USPS will be releasing 10 stamps celebrating droids from the franchise, from the most famous droids like R2-D2, C-3PO & BB-8 to droids like K-2SO, D-O, L3-37, a GNK or Gonk, 2-1B surgical droid and C1-10P or 'Chopper'.
These set of droids are a nod to Lucasfilm’s, as well as its parent company, Disney’s, commitment to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) learning and the continued collaboration between “Star Wars: Force for Change” and global pre-K-12 nonprofit organization “FIRST” (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). “Star Wars: Force for Change” and “FIRST” have joined forces to expand access to STEM learning to more young people around the world, and to help them envision a brighter, more inclusive future. How cool is THAT??!!🙂 CANT WAIT FOR OUR STAMPS!
