Look at these pictures being shared on Twitter...wow!! It's one thing to experience hail, heavy hail, and even SNOW in our mountain areas, like we have in Southern California over the past few days...but at the BEACH? Extreme weather conditions called for LA County Lifeguards and the National Weather Service to tweet about the weather warnings and even beach CLOSURES due to thunder and lightning. Beaches from Zuma to Marina del Rey were closed down in the 10 am hour and will stay closed until it's safe to reopen. The storm is expected to bring anywhere from 1- 3.5 inches of rain to the LA and Ventura county valleys. The LA County Public Health Department asked residents to avoid contact with ocean water amid storm drains, creeks, and rivers through Monday amid the storm. Bacteria, debris, and other hazards are washed away by the rain, officials warned. STAY SAFE AND WARM friends...and away from the beach for a few days!
