Heading out of town for the 4th of July?? WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??!! Ha well, I get it...we've EARNED the right to TRAVEL again, after Covid. To travel, be with friends, family...see all those beautiful & legal fireworks shows...parades are back too, its ALL BACK! But if you are hitting the road OR flying out via plane, BE READY. Millions of Californian's will be 'enroute' somewhere...the Automobile Club of Southern California is estimating about 3.3 million locals will be traveling this weekend...that number up roughly 46% from last year's pandemic-impacted Independence Day weekend and just 5.6% below the pre-pandemic holiday in 2019. Of those who are traveling, 2.8 million, or roughly 86%, are expected to travel by car, with 13% flying and the rest relying on some other means of transportation. Travel is expected to be the highest on record and air travel to be the third-highest amount since AAA started tracking data in 2001. Oh and if you're driving...the average price of a gallon of gas in Southern California already tops $4 a gallon...sooooo, there's that😳😳 doesn't staying closer to home sound fun now?? Ha ok, maybe not...but if you aren't leaving SoCal altogether...
