Fresh off a glorious, PACKED night at Dodger Stadium with a 9-0 WIN over the Pirates (that also wraps up back to back sweeps) ...look what our boys in blue have in store for us this weekend...ALL BLUE UNIFORMS!! The special 'new duds' will be worn for this Friday and Saturday's game vs the Mets, to help commemorate the 40th anniversary of Fernandomania, when sensation Fernando Valenzuela won the National League Rookie of the Year award, the Cy Young award AND helped Los Angeles win the World Series back in 1981🙂 According toUSA Today, the team's uniform cap and jersey front will feature the words ‘Los Dodgers.' For the first time in the franchise's history, dodger blue jerseys and pants are going to be worn. The jersey’s sleeves feature a spray-paint design honoring L.A.’s mural culture. SOOO COOOL!!
Lon Rosen, Dodger Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer said “The Dodger uniform is an iconic part of the franchise’s identity. While our traditional look has and will always be worn by the franchise-great players, the City Connect program offered us the opportunity to recognize the impact and importance of our multicultural fanbase...we’re excited to debut these City Connect uniforms on the field and know our fans will enjoy seeing ‘Los Dodgers’ on the uniforms as well as our new murals, which bring Los Angeles’ street art culture to Dodger Stadium.”
The boys were HAPPILY showing them off today on Twitter...love it!! #GOBLUE!!!
