Hopefully you aren't traveling anywhere that requires a passport anytime soon because if you need one... it looks like you will be waiting a while.
According to an article put out by the L.A. Times, they said that there is a huge back up in passport applications due to the pandemic. Back in March when the pandemic began, The U.S. State Department shut down all passport processing and just now it's starting back up again.
As of July 22nd, they are backed up by at least 1.2 million applications. So if you applied recently in this time frame.... you are going to have to hold off traveling anywhere a passport is needed. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks to get a passport unless it's expedited.
Are you traveling somewhere anytime soon where you need a passport?
