According to Los Angeles City Councilman David Ryu, he proposed the idea that would make the LA Al Fresco program a permanent fix.
As we all know, outdoor dining was designed to help keep restaurants afloat during the pandemic. Now, restaurants have gathered permits that allow to turn parking lots, sidewalks and even side streets into outdoor only dining areas.
1,600 restaurants have taken advantage of the program so far. Ryu stated "It’s a resource that should be permanent in the City of Los Angeles. We need more programs that cut through red tape to support local businesses and give communities a new sense of vibrancy. I commend the Mayor for creating LA Al Fresco, and I think it should be here to stay.”
Do you think this is the right idea?
