Rapper Will.I.Am is making face masks a high-tech/high-end statement!
He just announced this week that he is teaming up with Honeywell to launch XUPERMASK, which is a $299 face mask. Why so expensive you may ask? Well that's because it comes with dual three-speed fans and HEPA filters, a type of mechanical air filter, features Bluetooth connectivity, LED day glow lights, noise canceling audio and microphone capabilities, seven hours of battery life and a magnetic earbud docking system, plus it comes with adjustable straps.
His idea comes as a mask designer as some states started lifting mandatory mask mandates due to the rise of COVID-19 vaccinations in the US. The XUPERMASK has not yet been FDA cleared or approved but has been authorized by the FDA for emergency use by the general public and by healthcare professionals.
