It's a drink originally from Taiwan and is made with a variety of different ingredients like black or green tea, milk, ice and chewy little spheres made from tapioca starch. Its popularity has grown over the years.
We are experiencing a shortage because the boba balls which come from Taiwan, and the tapioca starch used to make them, comes from Thailand are getting caught up in shipping backlogs on the east and west coasts.
