Gas prices have surged more than 40% since January.
The nationwide average for a gallon of gas is $3.13 which is the highest in seven years. With the demand for summer travel still high, analysts believe that prices will continue to go up through the end of august before finally leveling off in September.
Prices aren't as bad as they were in 2008 when the national average was $4.11!
